Parental Discontent in Academies

Following trouble at Oasis Mayfield Academy, where parents and students were ignored when they complained about poor organisation, there has now been further trouble in another academy as a result of parental concerns being ignored.

This time the protest was aired on the BBC.

NUT asks Council to agree to talks to avert strike

“NUT members in the Croydon schools which are currently being considered for transfer to new ownership voted overwhelmingly for strike action in the ballot result announced on Tuesday 13th. The percentage of YES votes was over 90%.

The following day the Union wrote to the Council saying it was “willing to discuss a resolution to the dispute”.
